After close to five years offline, pot.tv is re-streaming. Pioneering video streaming in the year 2000, Marc Emery initiated and funded the production of hundreds of original videos, to the tune of $16,000 a month in streaming costs alone, discussing the latest information on cannabis medicines, politics, cooking, growing, history and activism. Pot.tv served as an incredible educating and unifying force for Canadian, American and International pot-activists.
I recall being quoted in an election day Washington Post news paper about pot.tv in the early days, saying “If the pen is mightier than the sword, then the personal computer is mightier than the atomic bomb”. Words that have been proven true by the explosion of cannabis activism over the last decade, which has been largely driven by connections on the cyber highway.
I remember arriving at the the pot.tv studios in the basement of Marc Emery’s Sunshine Coast home for the first time, after leaving my small West Coast fishing village home in my boat. prior to that, I never even had an internet connection, and I was overwhelmed by pot.tv’s 6 computer network, downloading shows to servers etc., and we can thank the many techies such as Geo, Ian, and Karlis who is still with CC, for all the pioneering work they accomplished in seeing it through its infancy and into a powerful force of Internet Activism, as well as Marc Emery for having the vision fortitude and Seed Bucks to make it all happen.
The five years I spent managing pot.tv were some the most productive and exciting times of my life. it gave me the opportunity to contact and intereview such personal inspirations Prof. Carl Ruck, Jonahton Ott, Robert Anton Wilson, Dr. Ethan Russo, Chris Conrad and countless others for my series Burning Shiva http://www.pot.tv/archive/series/pottvseries-14-0.html
As well as producing filming and editing hundreds of other shows.
If you were not around in the pre-Youtube hayday of pot.tv then download Realplayer and start watching some of the over a thousand shows on there that were viewed by over 12 million people!
Some of my all time personal favourites from my own and other shows are:
