Our Roots: Exploring Vancouver’s Cannabis History closed the 2018 Grassroots conference with cheers and applause. David Malmo-Levine, Hilary Black and John Conroy told stories about the history of cannabis activism in Canada. From the start of prohibition, to early arrests and the first dispensary in the country, panelists reminded the packed house how the booming interest in marijuana business was paved with hardship and humanity.
