CTV News: Why Aren’t Cannabis Criminal Records Being Expunged?

POT TV – CTV News spoke with Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale about pot pardons.

Evan Solomon asked Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale why cannabis criminal records aren’t being expunged?

His answer is very telling.

After a few meanderings about the United States honoring their own records, Goodale eventually argues expungement isn’t being offered because those violated by cannabis prohibition haven’t had their rights infringed.

Decades of raids, arrests and strip searches aren’t an infringement. Denying peaceful, nonviolent people housing, employment and education by criminal record exclusion isn’t an abuse of their rights. Increasing overdoses and crime isn’t a matter of public safety. Really, Ralph?
