CP24 spoke to Jodie Emery about Ontario’s Pot Lottery, a draw for one of 25 cannabis retail business licenses.
Government supply shortages of marijuana have forced a disruption in legal cannabis licensing and sales. There is no shortage of supply on the black market. However legacy dispensaries are still being raided and forced to shut down.
Why can’t the existing market be made legal? It would solve supply, medical access and product variety issues all at once, while simultaneously easing the overdose crisis.
Jodie Emery explained. “Cannabis supply exists. It’s just still criminalized.” The problem could be fixed overnight.
