POT TV – WJTV reported on the Mississippi Supreme Court ruling against a popular ballot initiative for medical marijuana.
Despite over 70% support for medical marijuana in Mississippi’s most recent election, the Supreme Court has ruled against Initiative 65, reported CBS12 WJTV.
Initiative 65 allowed “qualified patients with debilitating medical conditions, as certified by Mississippi licensed physicians, to use medical marijuana”.
Mississippi has been recently criticized for upholding a life sentence for marijuana, and is the location of the longest running federally legal medical marijuana farm in the United States.
